SOLVED!
MY M.2/nvme samsung 980 pro 2tb DRIVE is faulty. I removed it and temp installed windows on a separate drive and it works perfect. Just having the M.2 in it's slot was causing everything to fail. |

yes, i rememeber when SSD was failing on my for the first time - i was pretty sure it was motherboard or memory and wouldent think its SSD, because i thought it should be more reliable than HDD... yeah, right..
BTW you might try to make an image from your SSD drive and use it in virtual machine. When the writes fail the OS stops being bootable from the drive, but reads might still work (if accessed purely for reads from OS booted from other drive). Edited by M440 - 21 Jun 2024 at 3:02am |

I am happy to hear you solved the problem. Bad drives can cause a lot of headaches. You should absolutely consider getting your 980 Pro replaced if it is still under warranty.
