I am upgrading from a ASRock Z77 Pro 4 to a ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 and also upgrading the CPU. My system runs on Windows 7 and I'm hoping the Motherboard drivers are close enough that I can do the swap while keeping my old Hard Drive.
Does anyone here know if this swap will go smoothly since I'm sticking with ASRock or do you think I'll still have driver conflicts? Thanks to anyone that can help :)

It's never wise to keep an old OS on a new system but yes you can.
Start Run "msconfig.exe" Select the boot tab and check safe mode. Apply and exit, click "restart later". Shut down the system and remove the drive. If you follow this step the system will boot into safe mode on the new config and install any missing drivers in the process. This works from win 7 onward and will even allow you to change from an AMD to an intel system or vice versa. Interestingly it is also how you enable AHCI (from IDE Legacy mode) without having to reinstall the OS.

Thanks for the fast reply, I went into my MSconfig and I see a box I can check called safe boot. I think this is what you are talking about.
Still waiting on my order from Newegg but I will give this a shot when it all gets here. Thanks for your help! :)
