To reply to your previous post, it sounds like something is not right with the fan speed control on this board.
I've never had any problems controlling a fan's speed connected to a fan header on an ASRock board, as long as the fan header had fan speed control available. That goes back to the rather simple fan speed control of my ASRock Z77 Extreme4 board. I've used three pin and four pin PWM fans on ASRock Z77, Z87, Z97, X99, and Z170 boards, and have never had a fan I could not control at all. Even when using a three pin fan on a four pin fan header, and a four pin PWM fan on a three pin fan header, I could always control the fan's speed. You mentioned SpeedFan, which I don't use, but I wonder if that is interfering with the standard ASRock fan speed control. There is a known issue with certain Intel Skylake stock CPU coolers, but that is not the situation here. I don't have your board to test myself. But it seems the Chassis 2 fan speed control is not working. The Chassis 3 fan header is not labeled correctly IMO, it should be labeled as a PWR_FAN (Power Fan) that is meant to supply a full 12V to that header at all times. What UEFI/BIOS version are you using? |
