Appreciate any help.
New build using an ASRock H170M-ITX/DL mobo i3-6100 3.7ghz LGA1151 2x4Corsair DDR$ 2400mhz Vengeance LPX ram Sandisk 240gb SSD Samsung DVD Corsair CX-430 To add later: 4tb WD HDD (but not connected now) Powers up. Can hold the power button and it will power off. DVD shows power. No beeps. Nothing on the monitor at all. I've built a lot of systems and am thinking I'm just missing something simple. I assume i have the power/reset/and related cables correct but I will say the diagram on page 19 of the booklet leaves me wondering if the connectors should to across or vertical. That is looking at the diagram it appears the hdled connector goes vertical rather than horizontal. The fact that nothing comes up on the screen at all with no noise... Thoughts? Is it possible the 2400 DDR needs to be 2100? I tried 1 stick in each of the 2 slots but nothing.

Well I am a fool. I went back and checked and...I hadn't connected the cpu 4 pin cable. Did that and it powered up. Now I'm going to see if there are any issues using the i3 Skylake cpu with this mobo.

Three things right off the top of my head come to mind on new build that behave this way
1. Check that you connected the 4-pin CPU ATX12V1 power in the upper left quadrant of the board 2. Check that the 8GB(2x4GB) Kit is certified for this board on Corsairs Memory Finder. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/memory-finder 3. BIOS rev. . Between the SATA ports and the chipset HS is the BIOS chip with a white sticker on it that has the BIOS rev. that was flashed when it left the production line. Assuming the board is New and not Open Box, Used, or second hand, that printing on the sticker is the rev. it is flashed to. For proper support for the i3-6100 it must be 1.10 or higher. For the i3-6100T it must be 1.20 or higher. |

Ha! We were typing at the same time. Glad to discover you have it up and running. That's been the reason here many many times. The user overlooks that in the rush to button it up and push the power button. Me too on occasion, still! |
