Hello - I have repurposed my former workstation build to a VM server for my homelab and have two issues I am trying to work through to get the server fully homelab ready;
Setup; x79 Extreme6 - P3.10 bios Xeon 2667 v2 3.3ghz (OC to 4ghz) cooled via AIO 96gb DDR3 1600 ECC (Samsung) Expansion slots; (PCIe)-Mellanox CX311A SFP+ 10gbE card (latest firmware 2.42.5000 - Flexboot ROM disabled) (PCIe)-WiFi card (PCI)-Nvidia TNT2 for basic video out (PCIe)-PERC H730 raid card (PCIe)-Areca ARC-1210 raid6 card - Mellanox ConnectX-3 CX311A SFP+ for 10gigE - The card is not detected in any PCIe slot at gen2 or gen3. I do not see it in the system browser. The card is Gen3 so should be functional. My PERC h730 and Areca raid cards are picked up without any issues. I have removed all cards and all but one set of ram modules with no change. - SR-IOV <BIOS> - Does this board support this feature? I know VT-d is a pre-requisite for SRIOV. I have read several sites that claimed this function is compatible with the x79 chipset but I do not see anything in the BIOS to enable it. I have read there was a modified BIOS updates out there for another Asrock board (x99 Extreme11) perhaps there is one for this board ? Thanks! |

Has anyone been able to use PCIe Bifurcation on x79 boards? Or .... modify the UEFI bios to display the settings?
