Hello,

I have Z690 Taichi motherboard. The motherboard does have two Thunderbolt 4 ports. As far as I know those ports are shared and maximum theoretical speed is 40 gbps combined. I'm using integrated HDMI for main display and I'd like to extend my screen with USB3 to HDMI adapter with second 1440p screen.
I'm using first TB4 port for my apollo-x8p soundcard.

Is there any USB ports on that motherboard that does not share same controller/bandwidth as Thunderbolt ports? And if so, whitch are tey.

Thanks

Dear oqix
I thibnk this is best done via the support form
https://tw.asrock.com/events/tsd.asp?ln=en
maybe they can give you the Block diagram for this board.
When I check the IO shield picture on the ASRock website
https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z690%20Taichi/index.asp
I see that jou have a LAn port, underneath a USB A port, and a USB C Thunderbolt port.
next to it an identical configuration, but with a different LAN port.
These 2 port, so the USB and TB port underneath, is called a HUB, and ports from a hub, are usually connected to a single place on the board.
So what you see here are 2 TB (USB C) ports in 2 different hubs.
Maybe you should simply give it a try, and will find that there is no problem, and the 2 TB ports do not share a common source.
Furthermore I don't think the soundcard, uses the full bandwidth anyway
When using gmal. always check your spam folder
Kind Regards
