Is it possible to use 7600mhz hynix a die ram with the asrock z790 pg-itx? I'm wondering where the bottleneck is in terms of ram speed on the motherboard.
This is the ram I currently have. i'm pairing with a 13900k. Is the 6800+ on the mobo specs a hard limit? It's really the best motherboard for itx builds but the memory speed lags behind things like msi's mpg edge z790 and the asus strix z790 itx boards which both allow for 8000+mhz. https://www.newegg.com/global/mx-en/g-skill-32gb/p/N82E16820374438?Item=N82E16820374438 Thanks for any responses! |

No 7600MHz ram has been tested.
I would email ASRock support and tell them the exact parts. https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z790%20PG-ITXTB4/#MemoryRPL 6800+ probably means 6800MHz and faster. The bottleneck will be can the motherboard supply the voltage and does the CPU work with the speed of ram. |

Very interesting. It does seem it can supply the voltage as I manually have set it to 1.4 for vdd and vddq, however, it post at 6800 but not a step above that. It also does not post at 6800 unless I manually enter the timings. Got any idea how I might get to the 7600 the ram is rated for? Seems to be receiving the 1.4 volts correctly at 6800, but above that the machine doesn't post and defaults to uefi

I'd email ASRock support at this point.

I've emailed their support just today. Is there any advice you can give me? I'm sure it's possible but it's just that I'm not familiar with the bios and/or what i'd need to do to supply the ram the correct voltage/set the correct parameters.
