Hello,

I cannot get my Asrock X570 Steel Legend to power up with a new Ryzen 7 5700 X.

I have a Ryzen 7 3700 X which boots all the way to Windows 10 with no issues.

I first updated the BIOS (with the 3700 installed) from 2.60 to 3.00, then updated to BIOS 4.10 (the latest at this time).

I installed the 5700 and the computer will not power up. No LEDs on the motherboard, no fans spin, no response from the PC.

I reinstalled the 3700 and the PC boots into Windows no problem.

I have 2 sticks of G.Skill 3600 16GB RAM in the A2 and B2 slots, an MSI Radeon RX 5500 XT video card, and an M.2 NVMe in slot M2_2.

I even unplugged the computer, removed the CMOS battery, placed a jumper to clear the CMOS, and pressed the main power button.

It still will not power up/boot with the 5700 installed.

Does anyone have any other suggestions to make this work?

Purely based on your post, I'm thinking something is wrong with that 5700X CPU.
Where did you buy it? Do you see any physical damage (bent pins, etc.)? Can you return / exchange it?

I purchased the 5700 new in box on eBay. Not sure what the return policy is from the vendor.

I did not see any physical damage on the cpu. Even with all the testing, putting it in and taking it out of the socket.

This has me stumped. I don't have a know good system to test the 5700 which would quickly verify if the cpu works.

Any recommendations on motherboards that work out of the box with the 5700?
