So I just recently finished building my first gaming pc and the specs of my pc are:

Ryzen 7 2700

Asrock Fatal1ty x370 gaming k4 motherboard

16gb Ripjaws V Ram

Radeon Red Devil rx570 GPU

1tb WD Black Hard drive

120gb san disk ssd

crosair 650w PSU

And i'm having trouble with the system booting. The error code CO keeps showing up on the motherboard and the system will turn on and run for 30 seconds but after that it restarts itself and repeats.

If someone knows what is going on and can help me fix this it would be much appreciated.

its likely you have an older bios on this board not yet updated to the 2700 cpu

does the retail box have any sign of a sticker saying ryzen 2000 ready ?

k4 had end of life about 6month when it came shiny new, so there is like 99.99% u have very old bios on it if u bought it recently. i doubt vendors wouldnt care if its ryzen2 ready or not as long it wont get more dust on theirs shelves

Im guessing that may be the problem but i have no first gen CPU to put into the board and update it. But the newest bios for the board supports 2nd gen ryzen.

you have several options
option 1 , request a 'boot kit' from amd (they send you a cheap naff apu to flash the bios with)
option 2 go back to retailer and ask what the holy feck they think there doing selling goods unsuitable for use
option 3 beg/borrow/steal a first gen ryzen cpu to flash bios yourself
