I am still waiting for the reappearance of the dropped BIOS updates 1.50 and 1.60 (to fix TXE and Spectre/Meltdown issues).

my board has a problem with MCE error.

Any news from ASROCK?

" rel="nofollow - I too was waiting and waiting for ASRock to officially repost BIOS updates 1.5 and 1.6 to the J4205-ITX support page, but it never happened. Finally, about a month ago, I grew frustrated by the HDMI port problem I have been experiencing for two years and decided to install both updates. I did not care if I was left with a bricked board like what happened to some others, or if some new problems suddenly appeared.

I updated the BIOS using the files I had downloaded in March of this year. I was using BIOS version 1.4 and installed the updates in sequence from within the BIOS (not Windows) using a USB flash drive. I'm happy to report the two updates installed without experiencing any problems.

ASRock did not provide release notes with either BIOS update so I can't say what problems were officially fixed. What I do know is the HDMI problem that I found so frustrating has been resolved and the security vulnerability exposed by the Intel Management Engine has also been patched after I installed the two updates.

While the new ASRock Gemini Lake boards continue to receive BIOS updates, it does feel like ASRock has abandoned the Apollo Lake boards. While the two BIOS updates I installed are not officially available from the J4205-ITX support page, I'm sure if you contact ASRock support they will officially provide you with links to the files. If you don't have that much patience I see they are available from these two locations, at least for now.

Seems like a new BIOS 1.70 - 1.80 have been released etc.

But why oh why is there no describtion on what they contain? What are the fixes andd/or new fetures does this BIOS contain?
