Hi everyone!
I'm copying to the forum the support request about some issues I encountered with my J4205-ITX mainboard so maybe some other user can take advantage of that.
Of course I will update the thread with any answer I'll get.

I updated to 1.60 with Instant Flash with no problems at all.
Noticed the disclaimer "If the your system BIOS version is older than P1.70, please update BIOS to P1.70(Bridge BIOS) before updating this version." for 1.80 update.
I cannot update to 1.70 since Instant Flash do not recognize "APLITX1.70" file. Of course 1.80 file is recognized but I didn't update due to disclaimer.
So, this is the first problem: Instant Flash doesn't recognize 1.70 BIOS update file.

The second problem is I must limit the memory speed to have the system boot. I own 2 Crucial 8GB memory modules, part number CT2K102464BF186D (DDR3L, 1866MT/s, PC3-14900, 204-Pin). If I set the memory speed to 'Auto' or '1866' the system simply act if there is no memory installed at all (no boot, no beeps, blank screen).
So I need to install only one memory module, boot the system to BIOS config, limit the memory speed to '1600', turn off and install the second module.

The third problem is I cannot have any linux kernel works after 4.9.x. System is extremely slow even if I disable every ACPI capability from BIOS. Also I got MCE errors from kernel.

" rel="nofollow - Same problem here, I want to update from 1.60 to 1.80 but doesn't recognize the 1.70. I wrote to the support and their answer was:
"Do you have any problem on your motherboards? We don't recommend users to update the BIOS if their system is already running normally."
What a answer.

Hello everybody!
Here is the answer I got from ASRock support.

Referring your three question about J4205-ITX please see the answer to the questions below:
1. BIOS 1.60 and BIOS 1.70 are the same, you can update to BIOS 1.80 directly from BIOS 1.60 without updating to 1.70 first.

2. If memory states that it has the speed of 1866, it does not mean that it will always run at 1866.
It depends on your CPU quality and memory module quality. Please lower the frequency to see if memory can be detected.
if it still not work, please install memory one by one to different slots see if you have faulty memory modules or faulty motherboard memory slots.
If both slots and memory modules are working properly, you could also check with memory vendors to see whether these memory has
    been tested on J4205 motherboard.

3. If Linux is used, there is no guarantee that all functions are supported.
