First of all, I'd like to apologize for my English.

I recently bought a x99 Extreme4 and I'm running with i5820k, 4x4GB GDDR4 G Skill and ASUS STRIX GTX 980 Ti DC3OC. I was using the first PCI x16 slot available (from CPU to bottom of MB)

When I first boot my PC, my video was not recognized even though my graphic card was ON (lights and LED indicators).

So, I replaced my 4 memory RAM. I tried again, still no video.

Then I changed my graphic card to the second PCI x16 slot and bamm... I got my video signal.

My question is:

- Is my PCI x16 slot broken?
- Is there any setting that I should adjust?
- I'm sure I had it fully inserted but maybe there is something prevent my graphic of being fully inserted (how can I check this?)

I appreciate any help/information.

Check-out the socket - are all pin's OK?
Not bend or broken?

Your PCI-e lanes are directly connected to the CPU,
so if it does not work - first to check is the socked and the CPU.

Now that I inserted the graphic card on the second slot the system is running perfectly, including gaming on high demand of either CPU and GPU. Do you still believe there is something wrong with the CPU?

I will check the socket for the first PCI slot.

Thanks!!

Also check all the pins in the PCI-e lane - just one broken pin in the PCI-e lane makes it defect (if it is the right one).
