Hello everyone. Few days ago I updated my computer to AM5 platform. My current build: Mobo: Asrock B650M HDV/M.2 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 RAM: IR-6000D564L30S/32GDC Storage: Lexar 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe NM710 GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT Pulse PSU: Silver Monkey X Okame M2 850W 80 Plus Gold Case: Silver Monkey X Cassette BIOS: 3.20 Audio driver: Realtek high definition audio ver:6.0.9448.1_Nahimic. I have a problem to configure my audio output. I want to stream audio thru my rear and front panel at the same time (stereo speakers connected to rear panel and headphones connected to front panel). But when I plug in my headphones rear panel audio is muting :( In Realtek Audio Console there is no switch named "Disable front panel jack detection" which always worked with my problem. Also in BIOS settings there is no option to disable front panel audio. I have tried to turn of front panel audio via regedit but that method didnt work either. Does anyone have a solution? Cheers.

yes, its broken the same way for me too. I forgot about it.
Interesting to hear from ASRock on this one.
Can you switch between front/rear in software if the front is connected? I cant - only front plays.

Well, I manage to resolve this problem by Realtek HDA Driver Test Utility. You need to edit Realtek driver config a little, just one switch :)

Hey guys. I have the similar problem with this MBO.
How to solve this?
So, I have speakers connected on rear panel, headset connected on front panel via 3.5 mm jack.
In taskbar, there's only one audio which says "Speakers Realtek(R) Audio". I can't manually switch what I wanna use, speakers or headset. There's also no way to use speakers, without unplugging headset.
Even bigger problem occured few days ago when I wanted to watch show on a TV. TV is connected to PC via hdmi cable. It always worked fine and old motherboard would offer me to choose AAA (audio source from TV). Here, nothing happens. I still have only 1 audio source and TV is not even recognized.
So many problems with new PC, I just can't get it to work properly.. After days of fighting with it, thought it's all finally set up, but then ASRock decided to joke with me. If anyone here knows how to solve this audio issue, please, write it down. Thank you in advance.

Interesting to hear from ASRock on this one.
Can you switch between front/rear in software if the front is connected? I cant - only front plays.

I don't have a bare metal Windows setup right now, but as far as I remember, switching between GPU audio (DisplayPort/HDMI) and the motherboard sound card worked fine. On Linux, it works out of the box.
At the moment, I don't have the time or need to dig deeper into this. However, assuming what the other person said is true ??that they disabled front jack detection using the Realtek HDA Driver Test Utility in Windows ??then there doesn't seem to be any hardware limitation. So splitting audio ports, disabling headphone jack detection, and connecting sinks should all be possible.

ok, to have audio simultaniously for front and back output in linux install package alsa-tools
sudo pacman -S alsa-tools

oh, to have simultanious audio for both outputs i also followed the github guide and have the following set up. Disabling the jack detection only lets switching between the outputs in software - audio is no longer perma muted at line-out when front is connected.
> cat /etc/alsa-card-profile/mixer/paths/analog-output-lineout.conf
File: /etc/alsa-card-profile/mixer/paths/analog-output-lineout.conf

[Jack Headphone] state.plugged = unknown state.unplugged = unknown
;[Element Headphone] ;switch = off ;volume = off
[...]

to make the hdajackretask persistent accross reboots:

only step 1 in gui is neccessary for my install

Hey, thanks for replying. I've managed to fix half of my problem.
Downloaded Realtek Audio Console from microsoft store. In this program, I've managed to enable more playback devices to show. Now I have separated Headphones/Speakers and can manually choose which one I want to use. If anyone is having similar problem - get this software. Apparently it's a solution.
Although, other part of my problem didn't go away. TV as an audio source is still not recognized, when hooked to PC via HDMI. It is connected via cheap 5m long cable from Aliexpress. Maybe this motherboard is just not liking it. On old AsRock am4 motherboard, this cable worked just fine for years. Quite an intriguing situation. Anyone else thinks it's the MBO causing this problem, or you have a possible solution for this?
Will make sure to test it more. Still need to hook up 2nd monitor that have its own speakers. Now I'm curious will they get recognized. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Nope, audio is not showing. Connected my second monitor via display port cable and its inbuilt speakers are not showing as a playback device.
Weird problem. Anyone think bios update could fix this?

I've got Radeon RX 7800xt. Don't know what should cause problem with gpu, since all drivers are updated there in AMD software. Am I missing something?

IMO it must be something with drivers/os or cables connection. I dont remember how it looked in windows and i dont want to.
Curious what would show if you booted ubuntu/fedora liveUSB. You can try the desktop without installing the os.

I too have a similar issue on my new Mobo: Asrock B650M-H/M.2+ , there is no sound from front panel jack after connecting headphones or speakers whatsoever in both Windows 10 64bit and Linux.
I have raised the issue with asrock, awaiting a reply from them.

are you sure its not a connection problem? if the connection, case jack is ok, than its faulty mb front audio output

ok here's an update front audio jack is working in "Linux Mint" after using "PulseAudio Volume Control" and changing output ports under "Output Devices" but back audio panel will be muted.
Bad News is that on Windows 10 its not working even after trying "Realtek Audio Console", Front Panel is greyed out.

ok, so obv it is driver/windows os issue. Sorry for blaming hardware or your connection, naively assuming onboard card drivers must work.
On a previous page i wrote how you can have front and back jack play simultaniously in linux if it is what you want.

Hah, that's even weirder than my problem. But yeah, for front/rear jacks Realtek Audio Console did the trick..
Sound not showing from HDMI and DP cables is still not fixed and I really don't know what to do.

even my HDMI audio option had disappeared (Monitor has a inbuilt audio jack) due to installing and uninstalling lots of drivers. Then I uninstalled all motherboard and cpu drivers, uninstalled each Sound drivers from Device Manager -> "Sound,Video and Game Controller's" and reinstalled freshly all motherboard drivers, restarted and Monitor's HDMI Audio came back. You could try this.

ok good news guys now even in Windows 10 front panel audio is working. Simply uninstalled Realtek Drivers + Nahimic then installed Realtek Modded Drivers (AAF Family DCHAudioPack) from https://github.com/AAFOptimus/AAFFamilyDCHAudio" rel="nofollow - https://github.com/AAFOptimus/AAFFamilyDCHAudio , this has a lot of features along with Nahimic. I installed this modded drivers with Nahimic and under "Realtek Audio Console" Disable Front Panel jack detection to "ON" and Front Panel audio is working without any issues. Problem Fixed. Install "Realtek Audio Console" before installing the Modded Drivers.
If I find any official drivers will update. Seems like something is broken between Realtek Drivers + Nahimic.

apparently this problem is there on a lot of other motherboards from MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, Asrock as well due to Realtek + Nahimic. Some versions work and some don't.

no need to uninstall and reinstall all drivers. probably you can install audio drivers from your motherboard page and monitor drivers if there are any [since my monitor had]
install your monitor drivers then
goto Device Manager -> Sound, video and game controllers -> select High Definition Audio Device -> right click 'Update Driver' -> Select Browse my computer for driver software -> Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer -> check show compatible hardware -> select "AMD High Definition Audio Device -> Done and would ask for restart your windows. This worked for me my iGPU on 8600G processor and Monitor HDMI audio jack again started working fine without any issue.
