Hello,

I consider buying an ASRock X470 Taichi mainboard but it also depends on the support of hardware encrypted (eDrive) NVMe (M.2) boot drive SSD's with Bitlocker on Windows 10.
I would like to know if the boards support this?

I have currently a Samsung 960 EVO NVMe SSD with hardware encryption but on my actual main board it does not work as boot drive, only as secondary drive.
It is a matter of BIOS support.
The problem is broadly discussed here:

Thanks for any help.

No BIOS currently supports NVMe for HW-encrypted eDrive, not ASUS and definitely not ASRock. SATA over M.2 is fine, just not NMVe.

Some BIOS allow you to use Class 0, i.e. HW-lock with BIOS password. I think ASRock implemented this in some boards.

You can always use SW encryption (Bitlocker) for the non-bootable partitions of your 960. The overhead is practically negligible.
