Hi,
at first "sorry" for my rookie english, I´m from Germany.
Today I wanted to update my Z97E-ITX/ac UEFI from version 1.50 to current 1.80. But this doesn´t work, neither inside UEFI, nor via Windows flash.
UEFI Instant Flash scans the USB stick, finds the 1.80 version, asks me "flash yes / no", and I confirm. After this, I can watch the USB stick's LED blinking 3 or 4 seconds, and than nothing more happens. UEFI menu itself responses no more after that, I can only move the mouse pointer. After a reset (I´d waited several minutes with this), PC boot screen still shows 1.50 UEFI. Tried out several USB sticks, all formatted with FAT32, same result.
With Windows flash utility 1.80, I receive this error message: "Driver cannot by loaded, reinstall the program may fix this issue, if it happens again, report the problem bla bla bla" <- which driver?! Which program to reinstall?!
Right now I found out this: I can flash the same version 1.50 again with Instant Flash, here the update process starts and pass trough to 100%. Afterwards with 1.80 version, same game like above.
Now I have no more ideas what I can do... I want to upgrade to Broadwell CPU the next time, and then v1.80 is required. Has anyone else noticed the same problem? Thank you for every hint.

I understand you just fine, your English is very good.
Your UEFI update problem is strange, Instant Flash has always worked fine for me.
What USB port did you use? Try using one of the USB 2.0 ports on the board's IO panel.
Is your CPU over clocked? If it is, set the CPU to its stock speed. We need a perfectly stable system whenever we do a UEFI update.
Normally when using Instant Flash when the update is started, you will first see the message, "Crashless Feature...", and after that the update will happen.
UEFI version 1.80 has been available since May of 2015, and I have not heard of any problems with it. Did you try downloading it again?

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I´d tried out everything possible, like rear USB 2.0 Ports and reset UEFI to defaults. I remember end of 2014, flashing the factory-provided UEFI (1.10 I guess) to 1.50 with Instant flash occured smoothly. I never will find out what the real cause for this current problem was, but I finally was sucessful now. Possible solution for other guys with similar curious troubles:
- downloaded the 1.80 UEFI for DOS. - prepeared a USB stick with http://rufus.akeo.ie/" rel="nofollow - Rufus (German website, multilingual small "DOS-to-USB"-tool, needs only a few seconds)
Booted up from this USB stick and started the Z9ITXA_180.exe. After a short successful check and confirmation at DOS, PC restarts and UEFI update runs trough in usual manner ("ME code update", "loading crashless feature", "UEFI update do not power off") - done. In modern times with UEFI, Instant Flash or internet UEFI updates, good old DOS made it, however. ^^
