Hi
a new beta bios, 1.60, today popped up in the mobo page, but not in the general section of latest bios update.
Is this correct?

Has this version 1.60 the voltage offset field enabled?

Is this bios behind the JZ 1.62 bios? In the 1.62 changelog there isn't any reference to 1.0.0.4 patch C that version 1.60 brings.

Thanks

Paolo

Thank you for keeping our platform updated. I like to run the most recent BIOS version that I can find, and try to push PBO/RAM to the limits.

Thank you, the "private" 1.62 was a godsend. Going to try 2.0 out.

Just going back to the 3400Mhz RAM OC w/ timings that i've been using, as well as PBO i'm noticing a consistent significant cut with CPU performance simply from quick testing with Cinebench and 3DMark. Can anyone else confirm lower overall performance?

There's no difference in Cinebench so far after updating to 2.00. ~1855 before and after.

With PBO enabled and a couple of tweaks I was getting ~1890-1915 in Cinebench before 2.00 - the same tweaking w/ PBO now consistently nets me ~1850-~1870.

Before 2.00, my CPU would turbo up to 4.5-4.7Ghz inside of 3DMark (obviously certain cores/threads only) - now the max seems to be 4.35Ghz. Overall with PBO, multithreading performance has gone down as WELL as single-threaded. I've tried many, many, settings in BIOS, power settings in Windows, making sure background environment is the same, etc.

However, simply locking my CPU down to 4.2Ghz nets 1950 in CB. Also, now I am actually full on STABLE at 4.3Ghz. It seems like there was a lot of under the hood tweaks with how power gets delivered to the CPU. RAM voltage seems closer to target now too. Overall good, but I kind of miss my PBO lol

finally did 3466 and this is without tweaking anything hahaha loaded corsair mem preset and gave lots of voltage.

But i'm back to 3333@14 no difference in CB still peaks at 4.3 XFR

3466Mhz and 3600Mhz have been very achievable on my G.Skill Flare X RAM kit and it's not even on the QVL list (made for gen1 zen). Have you tried the Ryzen DRAM calculator? I'd leave any "ohm" setting on auto.

RDC doesn't work for me over 3400 cl14

i've been bootable in cl16 at 3400 for quiet sometime but its not stable, needs 1.41v dram and slower than 3333@ 14 1.35v

Hi,
If PBO is enabled and you want to get the best CPU performance, then the CPU Offset Voltage should be set to -0.1V.
So it was with the BIOS version before ;)

Offset -0.1 *used* to be extremely stable, and right before 1.62 came out, my PC basically wouldn't boot anymore. Just one positive click makes it stable again, so I did two "+"s

Did you get it wrong ?
If you set only PBO to enabled, an offset of -0.1V was automatically made. Less voltage, less temperature, boost goes higher ;)

-0.1v is what made our systems unbootable in 1.50

And manually setting it to -0.1V hard lock the system with E6 boot code

Are all the options from 1.35 beta bios back? Some were missing with 1.52 like offset not working with PBO enabled, pbo scaler options etc...

I really don't want to update if I don't have to. But I have 3600 samsung b-die ram which I can't get stable. So I run at 3400 cl14 with 102 bus clock.

Going to try the new bios, but the past few revisions I have not been able to use PBO. It locks to -.1v and never boots ever. Everything else with this board has been amazing though!

-0.1v lock has been fixed since beta 1.62 just remember to change the value because you exit bios as it still loads -0.1v

-0.08 to 0.07 is a good number

I am completely stable at -0.092 or whatever it is. Once you highlight/go over the field for the setting, simply hitting + or - changes the voltage in steppings that the motherboard seems to like & use.

ive noticed 3400 @ cl14 is really easy to run now its not as finicky as previous bios i need to set the volts at 1.385 for it to boot properly after restarts or cold boot but it works at 1.37

sadly i cant run above 101 one of my old 1tb backup drives will not show up at 102 damn why clock lock doesn't work i miss the days of 300fsb.

New taichi owner here Upgraded my board to 2.0, are these results decent (PBO enabled)?

https://imgur.com/a/97jGevW

-0.1v offset voltage (was set default iirc). Should I try pushing it even more to like -0.125v or its not worth it? Is it safe? I never actually overclocked my pc, time to learn new things

Applying a larger negative offset will undervolt (downclock?) the processor.

pbo is basically lower temp = higher clocks

more offset more upclock but of course it also means you need to find how far you can undervolt before the cpu isnt stable
