Just set together a new computer, MB: Asrock B850 Riptide Wifi CPU: Ryzen 7 9700
And it doesnt start. The leds are lighting up, all the fans are going, except GPU. The red and yellow lights on the MB are lit, so tried to update the flashbios with 3.20 but no change. I had no jumper to short the CMOS, is it hidden somewhere or is it missing? And when I tried to reset the CPU I noticed two pins slightly bent, not next to each other but on two different spots - and I was so careful but didn't look as I placed it it the first time that they were OK from the start. Is it broken then? Can it have been like that from the start? No way to fix?

I have looked more closely and tried the various tips from this site to correct the pins and noticed that one (at the edge) was bent, that one could be corrected, but one in the middle is completely missing. The one at the edge I can understand that I may have touched without knowing but the one in the middle I cannot see how I came in contact with it, and to then have removed it? Are there any factory mishaps of this kind, could it have been like this on arrival?

you bought this unit as new or return/openbox? what was the seller?
i dont think they would accept such socket at factory for install, idk if assembled board can pass factory QC with missing/bend pins

It was new, in a sealed package.

i believe my board was in a cardbox, not sealed in plastic, if it was 'open box/return' it would be impossible to tell apart, but i can be mistaken
anyway return/send to warranty if you bought it as new from reputable seller

You are right! I checked the box and cardboard which i assumed had one of these tapes (the GPU had ond) which shows tear if opened. But no, just a cardboard box, and as the CMOS jumper was missing it may be a return order they accepted without looking too close, I have contacted the store and we'll see, thanks!

I have received returned motherboard as "NEW" from Amazon (Sold & Shipped by Amazon). I stopped buying motherboards from Amazon years ago. The whole "no restocking fees" thing is a bad idea in my opinion. Consoomerism (sic) at its worst.
