I?™m having trouble with a new pc crashing when under load.
ASRock x570 phantom gaming 4
Ryzen 5 5500 w/ wraith stealth cooler
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb
Corsair CX650M
ASRock Challenger D Radeon RX 6600
I?™ve built this pc for a friend starting with the motherboard since he got it as a gift. I was able to update the bios to version 5.60 so the r5 5500 is supported. I was able to install windows 10 home and get to the desktop. I can browse the internet just fine and open most applications that come with windows. The issues start when I try to download any games or run any cpu benchmarks. I have already tried moving ram sticks around, testing it with a known working 850w psu, and clean installing windows. I?™ve watched cpu temps up until time of crashing and they never seem to go above 52-55 C. I?™ve updated chipset drivers and graphics card drivers. When it crashes, the gpu fans and one case fan stop spinning. The cpu cooler fan and other case fans, including rgb, stay on. The pc will reboot itself to the desktop after a few minutes. I?™ve scoured forums and YouTube looking for a situation like mine but so far nothing has worked. If anyone has any potential fixes, I?™d love to hear them. Thanks

Moving them around doesn't tell you much, if anything.
Run with just one RAM stick at a time and see if one of them causes crashes.

I also tried with a known working 16gb stick from my system in both slots, it would still crash.

At some point, you start questioning if CPU or motherboard is bad.
I recently saw a YouTube video case where the onboard network was causing similar problems. He disabled the onboard network in BIOS and used a separate expansion card to work around it. Not saying it's the case here. Just an example of crazy things that can happen.

If this forum couldnt provide any solutions, my next step was going to be basically what you said. Most likely upgrade to an am5 board and cpu.
