Subject: X370 taichi and ram latency

I am running a x370 taichi on the newest bios
running F4-3200C15D-16GVR (2x8gb) gskill ripjaw v
Ryzen 1600x 3.6 (steady OC at 4.0 with water cooling but reverted back while trying to get the RAM set.)
I have the ram in the 1st and 3rd slot
I am getting a latency of 65
I am able in the bios to set 2933 and get a solid boot.
When I enable XMP I cannot post and settings revert.
ANY suggestions?

Did XMP profile work on previous BIOS versions?

The only thing that worked well on my Taichi back in the days was the XMP. I picked up a QVL RAM and it was running fast and stable on all BIOS version I tried. It was a Flare X kit.

May have to try different ram.
I can get the xmp profile to post but only at 2933 MHz

Hard to tell. I wasn?™t able to nail down until today what was actually hanging up. When I set the ram to 2933 and below she will post all day but above that and no post.

I looked at the manual for the X370 (page 23)
Note: I don't know if there are any revisions to the X370 taichi manual that indicate other wise. But, for two sticks of RAM should't they be in slots A2 and B2? Those would be the second and fourth slots.

Memory layouts do matter electrically and placing your ram in the correct slot can make a difference. Buildzoid has a great video explaining memory tracing and layouts and their importance electrically.
