I upgraded my deskmini 110 from the i3-7100 CPU I was using to an i7-7700. Temperatures were not an issue with the i3-7000 processor. However when doing video encoding or any other CPU intensive task, with the i7-7700 CPU the temperatures would climb to the 90-100+C range with the stock Intel i7 CPU cooler.

Here is a photo showing the CPU temperatures while running a CPU intensive test/benchmark:

I did a search and found a few people using the Noctua NH-L9i CPU cooler on their DeskMini 110 and decided to give it a try. Now in long heavy CPU loads the CPU temperatures are 76-80C.

Here are the results after installing the new CPU cooler:

I was going to delid the i7-7700, however I'm happy with the 76-80C temperatures under heavy loads with the Noctua cooler.

Another thing I noticed is that the CPU is not throttling under heavy loads, so my benchmark scores increased. I assume that means my render and encoding times will decrease also.
