New Build Asr B450 Pro4 Ryzen 5 2400G 8gb G.SKILL Aegis 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Memory (Desktop Memory) Model F4-3000C16S-8GISB RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch (Newegg Desc.)
Issue: No Post No display All Parts Listed brand new Symptom: Cpu fan spins up, no post, no display, Cpu fan slows and recycles TS: 1. Replace Psu (Ocz Modular 500W) No change (nc) 2. Alt mem slots, (nc) 3. Alt display (nc) 4. Reseat psu ports (all seated firmly) 5. Remove check and remove other header pinned items (pled etc) (nc) 6. Let system remain on for 3 minutes (no heat on cpu heatsink) (nc) 7. throw it outside from my second floor deck into a snow drift (system cpu fan no longer spins) OK That one I didn't try
1st thought is incompatible memory (not on qvl) Other thoughts? Anyone else see this cpu fan cycling like this?

Thanks for the idea, it (B450) has an Hdmi but not DVI, I can try that though. However, it really does not explain the CPU fan cycling. Hopefully the hdmi will show any post info that might be showing, but i kinda doubt it.

if it shows image via hdmi, updating Bios to version 1.80 (Agesa 1006) fixes many problems with that version. if it does not show image you should try another ram, 2 modules place them in position a2 and b2, and a single module place it in slot b2, I hope it works for you.

I am guessing this is your RAM https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3000c16s-8gisb
If you look at it's QVL you will see that it does not officially support AMD systems. I suspect that is where your issue is coming from. DDR4 is notoriously tricky to select when building new systems.
Aegis are intel specced kits. Fortis is their equivalent for AMD.

Thanks, I agree re. AM4 Mem - for instance: G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel Z370 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GTZB Clearly states Intel on the description, yet is the highest rated Speed Mem for my Raven Ridge Ryzen 5 2400g / B450 chipset. Qvl -DDR4 G.Skill 2933 2933 8GB F4-3200C16D-16GTZB SS 2 v So Labels are quite confusing. I figured for a new build, I would want the fastest($$) right now. So my first choice mem, was UN-researched - I thought DDR4 was less expensive than my FX chipped ddr3 rig it's replacing...

And this is throwing me off as well: English 24 Ryzen Series CPUs (Raven Ridge): SR: Single rank DIMM, 1Rx4 or 1Rx8 on DIMM module label DR: Dual rank DIMM, 2Rx4 or 2Rx8 on DIMM module label UDIMM Memory Slot A2 etc. http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Manual/QIG/B450%20Pro4_multiQIG.pdf Says only a SR in A2 will work at 2933mHz so the kit referenced above has two dimms... not sure if that config will work either.

I'm using B450 FATAL1TY K4 with 1.8 BIOS, HyperX Predator which on QVL list, running 3200MHz with fast timings 14-14-14-14-30, no issues.
The chart in the manual I suspect is outdated based on old AMD firmwares.
