Hey, was hoping someone can help me out with this. I just updated my bios to the latest beta version for my Ab350m Pro4.
I now have an option for Precision Boost Overdrive in the Bios. Problem is, when I set it to advanced, the Curve Optimizer option doesn't show up.

I have a 3800x CPU. Is this the reason why I don't have this option available in the PBO menu?

I just ordered a 5800x3d and was hopefully that this option will become available once the CPU is installed. I can't use Ryzen Master on my system for some reason.   The program won't start on my Windows 10. I heard the 5800x3d runs really hot and most people lower the curve by -30 to bring down temps. I would like to do this but am concerned I still won't be given the option in my BIOS with the 5800x3d installed. Any help/info is much appreciated.

The Curve Optimizer option is not available with your 3800X because it is only supported on Ryzen 5000 series CPUs like the 5800X3D. Once you install the 5800X3D and ensure your BIOS is fully updated, the option should appear, allowing you to undervolt and manage temps.

Yes, your 3800X (Zen2) doesn?t support Curve Optimizer, that?s why you don?t see it; once you install the 5800X3D (Zen3) the option should appear in BIOS, since CO is supported on that CPU.

Great post on the Curve Optimizer! I had similar BIOS issues with my Ryzen CPU, but patience with updates helped.

Yes, the Curve Optimizer option depends on the CPU?”your 3800X doesn?™t support it in BIOS, but the 5800X3D should. Once installed, you should see the option under PBO Advanced.

Your 5800X3D should definitely unlock the Curve Optimizer option once installed?

Yes, that?s normal. Curve Optimizer isn?t supported on Zen 2 like the 3800X. It should appear with the 5800X3D on that beta BIOS, though options may be limited. Many boards restrict CO ranges on X3D CPUs.

Curve Optimizer doesn?™t show up for the 3800X because it?™s a Zen 2 CPU. That?™s not a BIOS bug; it?™s just not supported.

When your 5800X3D arrives, you should definitely get the Curve Optimizer in the PBO menu. Most people do a -20 to -30 adjustment to help reduce temps, and it works well if you monitor stability.
