Hey all, Been having a heck of a time with this board. Before I go any further, my specs: AMD 1950x first gen Two sticks of 8gb DDR-2400 RAM (in the far right dual channel slots, because the ones closer to the IO ports don't seem to work :/) Two 256gb SSDs H100i v2 I should also mention there was a whole stage where I updated the BIOS using instant flash and the machine bricked. I updated from 2.3 to 3.5 I think. So I had to reset them with the BIOS Flashback. I tried literally every version of the BIOS since and none of them have fixed my issue. The issue is that the machine randomly shuts off, seemingly due to CPU temp. But the CPU temps seem to be fine, and I put my H100i on max, and still the machine just boop. Shuts off. The reason I think it may be something to do with heat in some way is that if I try to turn it on within a minute or two of it shutting off, it just won't work. It will continually cycle in a loop on Dr Debug, shut off for a second, then come back on and repeat. If I wait a bit, I can get a couple minutes out of it. If I wait even longer I might get 10 minutes out of it. The problem is the heat readings in Corsair Link and in the BIOS seem to be normal. The BIOS do read at nearly 70c at all times, but from what I understand this is an intentional offset. But, it seems like as soon as it gets to 70 or close it shuts off. PS. I've also tried every combination I could think of RAM, no RAM, hard drives, SSD, GPU, etc. I'm guessing the board is just faulty which would be 0/2 for with me for ASRock. |

hi, I don't have a tr but for what I saw here and around it's crucial the seating. | Hi, I re-seated the processor today. Made sure everything was tight and good to go. No bent pins. Computer still shuts off after 10-15 minutes of run-time and then refuses to start again unless I wait for a little while. |

From what you are describing it sounds like either a mounting issue or a defective CPU/socket. All your RAM slots should work, even if they are not the "preferred" slots for your number of RAM modules. I just checked on my X399 Phantom Gaming 6 and I can post with a single stick in any of the 8 slots. TR4 CPU installation can be tricky, it is not unheard of for even the most experienced builders to need to reinstall the CPU multiple times before it's seated correctly. Take a look on Youtube for a guide, there are several good ones that will help you ensure it is seated properly in the socket and torqued down correctly. -------------
