For this program, what are the consequences for not installing it? I don't use any of my audio ports on the motherboard or front panel as I don't really connect headphones or speakers to any of the audio ports. I had it installed and it seems to cause conflicts with programs. I can't really remember what I was installing or trying to configure but I experienced twice one of which that the wizard popped up right after installing oculus setup. I spent a couple of hours trying to get audio to my VR headset from the pc and finally figured out that it was Nahimic's POS utility that was causing the issue. Uninstalled it and everything worked perfectly. I should have suspect issues after that stupid wizard popped up without plugging anything in. Is there other issues I might run into by not re intsalling it?

Thanks.

If you're not using any motherboard audio, why would you install it?

I didn't like the audio on my motherboard (B850M-X [WiFi]), so I bought a USB DAC and DISABLED the onboard audio in BIOS.

I also disable any sort of "auto" driver updates, because less is better. For example, I never install Realtek audio stuff, even when I use the audio. Default drivers are less troublesome.

Thanks eccential, I installed it thinking it would have been needed sincce it came out in the updates, but you're right if I'm not using the motherboard audio I wont install it. Just wasn't sure if there was any draw backs if I didn't.

Uninstalled Nahimic (worst piece of software ever) instantly and using steelseries sonar instead and you don't need steelseries hardware for it too work.

Nahimic is some sort of audio enhancer (not to replace but on top of the Realtek driver).

As I've read many "worst piece of software ever" threads, I never installed it. It's not required for mainboard audio to work.

definitely not worst piece of software or bloatware or something to be afraid of. I suggest installing it and it would improve multimedia enjoyment. Its more like compatibility issues with exact versions of Realtek Drivers and Nahimic when downloaded from random sites. So download both the files from Motherboard Model page from respective board brands you own. This I'm confirming saying after trying a lot of trail and error method trying varies driver versions and Nahimic versions.. official and unofficial. So Download from your respective Mobo Model page drivers and enjoy your audio better without paying extra for free.
