Hello

Specs:
AMD Ryzen 2600x with Stock Cooler
Nvidia RTX 2060
ASRock B450 Pro4
Ballistix Sport 16 GB DDR4 3200

Goal:
I want to control my PWM Case Fans and CPU Fan via H/W Monitor in BIOS.
The fan speed should depend on "cpu temperature", because i guess thats the Mainboard sensor for the CPU and it doesnt fluctuate like the "Tctrl" temperature.

Problem:
As long as Tctrl is between 0 and 80C, the fan speed doesnt change at all (it should continously increase according to my custom fan speed plan).
When i do a stress test, the fans suddenly speed up when Tctrl goes above 80C.

To monitor the Mainboard "CPU Temperature", i used the programm "SpeedFan".
And thats where i saw the root of this strange behaviour.
For CPU , it shows negative! temperatures (fluctuates between -5C and -65C).

When i start the stress test, "CPU temperature" in SpeedFan remains negative until the "Tctrl" temperature goes above 80C. And that point it suddenly jumps to 60C and the Fan speed goes up.

When i stop the stress test, the "CPU temperature" seems to behave normal now and decreases (and the fans behave exactly like i want to, i.e decreases continously) until 38C where it suddenly jumps again to negative temperatures.

Any way to fix this?

Best regards
Patrick

hi,

i have the same expierence with mx x470 gaming k4. only Tctl can be used to controll fan speeds. see the sticky http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=9701&title=fatal1ty-b450-gaming-k4-fan-control-doesnt-work

also you might try Hwinfo64 instead of speedfan, might give diffent readings, but when you enable "negative temps" in settings it shows cpu at negative temps instead of 0.

what board do you have, i think its the same on all.

Thx for your answer, so i see this is a common unsolved issue..
Maybe i should send the Mainboard back at get a MSI Board...

Nevermind, that Argus Monitor tool is amazing.
Fixed all my issues :)

I have a problem with the B450 pro motherboard that the cpu temperature is 41 ° and the cpu diode is 32 °
.
basic windows 10 under no load.
the temperature bounces up and down. unless you switch to power save mode.
up and down while jumping
the Cpu is 41 to 51 ° per second
while the cpu diode is 32 max 35 ° but fixed does not bounce.
.
while playing the cpu diode is 49-52 °
the Cpu temperature is 60-66 °
multiple re-pastes did not help the refrigerator is properly provided.

the fan spins up and down in the basic position which is not a good result.

is there a ready solution?
