Subject: Multiple NVME cards`

I currently have a Taichi Z370 / 8700K
NVME_1 has a Samsung 960Pro 512G NVME
SATA_2 is a 500G 850EVO
SATA3_3 is a Samsung 240G 840EVO
SATA_4 is a 4TB Seagate HD
SATA_A2 is a DVD

I had my son order a 1TB Patiot VPN100 1TB NVME card which I wanted to use to replace the 240G Samsung. He ordered two of them.

I think I have two options.
1. Replace the 840EVO with one of the VPN100s and add the second VPN100 which would fill all my NVME slots and then move the Seagate down to SATA_A1
2. Add the second VPN100 to a PCI NVME adapter card which I have in my parts bin and leave the Seagate alone.
Of course option 3 is to return the second Patriot unopened for a refund.

My questions are the viability of options 1 and 2.

Dear Lenster,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

Regarding your question, Z370 Taichi supports 8 SATA3 connectors and 3 M.2 slots.
When 3 NVMe SSD are connected, can connect another 4 SATA devices at SATA3_2, SATA3_3, SATA3_A1, SATA3_A2.
Also the PCIE2, PCIE4, PCIE5 slots can support the PCIe NVMe adapter card.

Thank you!
Yours truly,
ASRock TSD
