I have an X399M Taichi TR4 board with a GTX 1080 using the top PCIE slot and I'd like to buy a 3rd party cooler for my graphics card: Arctic Accelero Xtreme IV
The board has a large housing for the IO ports and there's a big heat sink on the VRM, and I'm afraid the back plate of the Accelero Xtreme would not fit.
I can move the card to another PCIE slot if needed, but then the cooling efficiency would somewhat drop I think.
Did anyone install that particular cooler with this mobo?

I have not your MB nor card.
You'll definitely need to use another PCIe slot. The cooler itself is 54mm/2 1/8" in height.
MB specs/layouts are industry defined, so it should fit, excepting that top slot. I can't imagine it fitting there even with a watercooler installed on the cpu. 54mm on that X399M board is a lot.
Review, with it installed on a 1080: https://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/henry-butt/arctic-accelero-xtreme-iv-gpu-cooler-review/

Guess I?™ll update this.
I bought the cooler and as expected, it doesn?™t fit in the top pcie slot.
Sadly the card didn?™t fit in the microATX case after moving it to the second slot, so I had to buy a bit bigger case too.
