hi, one more question on X870E Taichi Lite :
Is it normal that the CPU fan does not stop when the computer is powered down (no sleep, realy shut down)?
Fan rpm is realy low, not hearable, but still spinning. My fan is a Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC. First I thought that would be a feature, to avoid hotspots when shuting down a hot CPU - but it keeps running for days... - the only way to stop is unplug. When re-pluged, fan is not running. All other fans stop on shut down. Or is there any switch in the BIOS to disable that behaviour?

How is the fan connected to the system?

Check in your BIOS under:
Advanced>ACPI configuration> Deep Sleep and set it to enabled in S5
See if that sorts it out.

Hmm, interesting. Maybe try connect your CPU fan to one of the other fan headers on the board and see if that changes anything.
When you set Deep Sleep to enabled in S5, did it change anything? I mean other than the fan.

I couldn't tell any difference when S5 was enabled: when I clicked ?œShut Down,??the PC shut down, the LED on the front of my case turned off, and all the fans (except one) stopped. When I pressed the Poewer button, the PC restarted as usual.
I think I'll just put up with it, as I usually disconnect the PC and all its peripherals, such as printers, speakers, etc., from the power supply via a power strip with a switch, so the fan stops anyway.

My curiosity wouldn't let me rest:
When I shut down my PC running Linux (Ubuntu), the CPU fan also turns off! So it must be caused by a Windows program, right? I've now removed everything possible from Autostart, but unfortunately without success. The event viewer also shows no clues?”it remains a mystery.
