Hello.
I'm having problems upgrading my processor in my Fatal1ty X370 Gaming-ITX/ac. It's got an A8-9600 but I'm trying to upgrade to a Ryzen 5 5500. The BIOS was at 5.70 but when I put the new CPU in, the fans turn on for a few seconds then they shut off and turn on again. If I put the 9600 in, the system boots. I upgraded to 5.90 but it still does the same thing. I've also cleared the CMOS with the jumper and left the battery unplugged over night without the system plugged in.
What else can I try?
Thank you!

The first BIOS version that recognizes the Ryzen 5500 is version 7.0. However, I don't know how you're supposed to flash it, since it also stops supporting the Bristol Ridge (A8-9600). It's a tough situation :)

wino pretty much hit the nail on the head. Your best bet would be to take your system in to a tech store/specialist and have them update the BIOS for you. Otherwise you will need a CPU that is supported by version 7.0 to perform the update safely.
