BIOS 3.50 for AM5 Boards

Is there any source with further information about changes since Version 3.40 (or 3.30)?
ASROCK homepage writes only "Update AGESA to ComboAM5 1.2.0.3g." - which means all and nothing.

As some had troubles with 3.40, I am not happy with flashing BIOS every 4 weeks, without knowing what was changed.
Currently I am running 3.30 on my X870E Taichi lite, but my DRAM is set to really slow JDEC (4800, 1.1 V, ...), for not toasting my CPU (9900x). I would love to switch to EXPO (6400), like stated in the Asrock support list, but still afraid of damaging my CPU.
And releasing every 4 weeks a new BIOS version without saying, what was modified, does not support my trust in proper programming.

well, i am running 3.40 and had no issues. I have a 9800x3d with DDR5 6000 and expo enabled. I also have PBO activated, in the bios, using the max temp at 85 deg.. its been fine. Gamers nexus released an update yesterday on the subject of the burning cpus. I watched it all and they gave no conclusion other than not to let your pc use sleep...it continues. i will try 3.50 today.

Thanks for the hint on the Gamers Nexus YT.
But - as usual nowadays - 52 minutes with lots of words and some ads, and only 7 or 8 screens with relevant information.
The best is his conclusion @ 47:40 :
"Now, unfortunately, without a replication to mach the problems, we?™re not exactly sure what advice is best to give to people who already have an Asrock board. If you don?™t have one and you?™re worried about it, then don?™t buy Asrock."

How did your update to 3.50 work?
Everything still runniung stable?

BTW: Asrock has extended the warranty period for Japanese customers from two to three years.

Hi!

One change that I've noticed, going from BIOS v3.40 to v3.50, is the "SoC/Uncore OC Mode" setting location:

On BIOS v3.40, it's in the "Advanced" page, under "AMD Overclocking" (Default setting: "Auto").

On BIOS v3.50, it's in the "OC Tweaker" page (Default setting: "Enabled" / Fixed voltage: 1.2V).

So... did anyone find something else different or working differently.
For example, I am very irritated that my Taichi X870e starts Windows in more than 40 seconds... Why the hell do I have a gen 4 NVME for...?

Hello!
I have a B650M-HDV/M.2 motherboard, where I updated the BIOS to version 3.50, and the problem I have with it is that when I put the computer into suspend mode in Windows 11, it takes a long time to come back, and you have to press any key or the mouse several times to bring it back.
This problem did not occur in BIOS 3.40.
Has anyone had a similar problem?

After a few days, the PC did not return from sleep mode. I had to turn the PC back on.
I went back to BIOS 3.40.
BIOS version 3.50 is causing a lot of problems. In addition to what I mentioned above, there is the problem of slow booting in Windows 11.
The only description on the website about BIOS 3.50 is the Update AGESA to ComboAM5 1.2.0.3g. I see no reason to update, as the system runs more stably on BIOS 3.40. At least for the B650M-HDV/M.2 motherboard.

Hello!

BIOS 3.50 works perfectly on my X670E Taichi.

Maybe, the firmware of some other components (SSD, Keyboard, Monitor, Video card, etc.) should be updated too, in order for BIOS 3.50 to work properly with those components.

As a good practice, I am keeping the firmware of all of my components up to date.

I have the B850M Steel Legend board and BIOS 3.50 installed.

I have noticed slow boot to Windows 11, last BIOS time in Task Manager (shown when clicking on Startup apps) is between 99 and 105 seconds for every boot.

I noticed a white non-blinking underline or cursor at the upper right corner after turning on the PC plus a white LED is lit on the motherboard during the time this cursor is shown.

After the white LED is turned off, the boot continues with showing the AsRock text and Windows is starting up.

I have tried to find a solution (e.g. disable Fast Boot, no effect) and this is very painful because it also takes 100+ seconds to enter the BIOS each time I tried some settings.

Finally I found the solution:

Disabling this BIOS setting reduced the Last Boot Time to 14 seconds:

USB Mass Storage Driver Support

You will find this in the Advanced USB Configuration BIOS section.

I also tested if the new BIOS 4.03 would have this setting disabled or not, and yes it does.

You must disable this BIOS setting if you want to have the last boot time reducked. This has nothing to do with memory training (with enabled USB Mass Storage Device Support and memory training ongoing, the last boot time will be about 125 seconds).

I am well aware that no one at AsRock will be able to help with slow boot times because this topic is so difficult to understand and diagnose, but finally for me disabling the USB Mass Storage Device Support prevented me from going out and buying another motherboard that does not have such a strange behaviour with this feature enabled by default in the BIOS.

Hi!

Thanks for this valuable info.

(I don't have this issue, but I'm sure that it will help someone, someday, that has this issue).
