Hi, very bad day for me
I am using sffc setup for a year now. A620i and 8400f, kingston 32x2 rams was my setup. Finally I went for 9800x3d today. Bios was updated in last 6 months cant remember the version, I just replaced 8400f with 9800x3d today did a cmos reset but pc didnt respond at all. I tried both rams one by one on each slot nothing. No burn or visible damage anywhere. The worst part is now the pc doesnt work with 8400f too. I assume a620i motherboard just went bad or was made bad or idk I need help. I can measure necesaary pins or chips or porta with a multimeter if its going to help. My X99 asrock board still runs today but this am5 series idk something is wrong.

Hi Alp35. First of all, don't panic. The odds that you killed your board are actually
low provided you didn't cause physical damage during the CPU swap.

First of all, make sure that you replaced the clear CMOS jumper to the correct
position. If you have it left in the "clear" position the system will not respond.
Secondly, download and use the "Flashback" method to flash to the latest BIOS
for your board, 4.20 as of writing.
Third, when you power on the system with the 9800x3d make sure you have a single
stick of RAM in slot A1 and that you leave the system powered on for 10 mins to
allow for RAM training potentially taking a while.

Let me know how it goes. I will be offline for a while as it's 2am here but I
will check back in tomorrow.

Good luck.

I have tried last night flashing with latest bios on the support page of a620i lightning tried several usb ports and left it there for 7 hours nothing happens but green led flashes. 8400f, 1 slot dram on A1 slot, both ssd stick are on the board and rtx4060 too.

I am finding it hard to understand your posts. By green LED flashes do you mean
on the motherboard or the USB flash drive? As for leaving it on, you only need
to do that for about 10mins, if it hasn't POSTed by then it isn't going to.

Remove the GPU and connect your display to the display ports on the motherboard
while you are testing. You always want to remove as much from the system as you
can while troubleshooting. Right now all we are concerned with is getting the
board to POST.

Try without the GPU installed using your 9800x3d, the 8400f does not have an iGPU
so it won't be useable in this config (it requires a dedicated GPU). While you
have the CPU out of the system double check your socket carefully for any bent
or misaligned pins.

Once you have the 9800x3d installed and the GPU removed try powering on for 10mins
again and see if you get anything on the display, even a small flashing cursor
in the top left of the screen is a good sign.

I mean green led next to flash button on the motherboard. I will try your last suggestion.

Good luck, let me know how it goes.

For flashback make sure you follow the instructions on naming and flash drive
format.

Extract the BIOS file, copy it onto a FAT32 formatted flash drive and rename it to
CREATIVE.ROM all caps. Then follow the Flashback instructions.

I did as you say I tried creative and other naming with biosbu. I realized light of flashback button blink anyway even if there is no usb attached to mb. Blinks forever. Usb led hobewer blinks on other usb ports but not on flashback supported board.O tried 4.21 and 4.1 no lack 10 minutes each try

I am afraid I am all out of ideas. You should open a support ticket with ASRock
Tech Support: http://tw.asrock.com/events/tsd.asp

They should be able to assist you further and possibly suggest some things I haven't
thought of. If it turns out your board is the issue they will be able to advise
you as to what to do.

Sorry I was unable to help you get up and running, good luck

I just bought Asus 850i board, my cpu works perfectly. I will be keeping my asrock board as wall decor.

I am glad to see you are up and running again. Sorry we couldn't figure out the
issue with your original board.

Enjoy your 9800x3d
