Hello,
I am in the process of my 4th pc build, but 1st in 9 years.
Currently I have 1 stick of ram installed to B2 port. Trying to boot to BIOS. When powered on, it goes to the Asrock screen with F2, F6, F11 on the bottom right, but I cannot use the keyboard to get it to access any of the menus. USB Keyboard, using the back ports on the mobo.
The mobo code is showing an A2 code, but since I can't access the boot menu options I am stuck.
I have no SATA HD drive connected.
The below are my components: Motherboard: Asrock Z890 Taichi CPU: IntelĀ® Core??Ultra 7 Processor 270K GPU: MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB GDDR7 PCI Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro TG PH-ES614PTG SSD: Samsung SSD 9100 PRO 1TB, PCIe 5.0x4 M.2 2280 Memory: G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 Powersupply: CORSAIR RMe Series RM850e 850W AIO Cooler: MSI MAG Coreliquid A15 360 - AIO ARGB

Try the "Lightning Gaming" ports for the keyboard, they are meant for use with a keyboard and mouse. If that still won't work then try a different keyboard.
Another way to get into the BIOS is to remove all storage devices, the system will automatically enter BIOS on boot when there is no boot device present.
Hope this helps.

Hello & thanks for creating this thread!
I have removed the SSD from the M2.1 slot (so no SSDs are present).
I have tried 3 different keyboards (2 wired, 1 wireless) & none have been able to input a selection from any of the rear ports, lightning ports included. All have the numlock key light come on, but no input works.
At the end of this post I have put a couple of screenshots to show what the display is showing.
Thank you

Try this and see if it helps: https://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=630&title=how-to-clear-cmos-via-battery-removal
If there is some kind of BIOS glitch happening that is preventing the keyboard from detecting that should clear it.
If that still doesn't help it could be that your board doesn't have an up to date enough BIOS for your CPU which requires BIOS 3.09 but will POST on 2.22. If the BIOS is older than 3.09 it could be causing your issue. You can use the BIOS flashback button on your board to update to a supporting BIOS version. You will find instructions in your board's user manual: https://download.asrock.com/Manual/Z890%20Taichi.pdf
Page 55 of the PDF (51 on the printed page).
Good luck

Thank you again,
I am going through the process for the CMOS reset. Question that came up for me is as I am reading through the manual, I'm not finding a jumper for step 3 of the link you provided.
Google says this mobo does not possess one, but just looking to confirm this as Google is not that trustworthy a source to me.

Your board has a clear CMOS button on the rear IO right next to the BIOS flashback button

The BIOS update has resolved the keyboard/back panel/A2 issues. I'm mid windows install.
Thank you for the assistance on this!
