Will RAM only work in dual-channel mode if it is on the Memory QVL list?
I have two 4gb sticks of G Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 at 1866mhz. F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL
I tried manually setting the timings according to the G Skill site;
http://www.gskill.com/en/product/F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL
I also have two 4gb sticks of Kingston 1333mhz KHX1333C9D3B1 and they also only work in single channel mode.
The bottom of the BIOS main page shows V02.67C I have not yet tried the Version 1.20 BIOS from the AsRock site.
Any suggestions would be very welcome. I apologize if I'm missing any important information.

On the 'Main' tab within the BIOS, near the top, what "BIOS Version' is reported?

The BIOS version is 760GM-HDV P1.10
The newest version on the AsRock site is 1.20.
I know the risk is much lower flashing your BIOS now than it used to be so I had might as well just do it.

I successfully flashed to version 1.20 but it's still in single channel mode.
The problem is probably my CPU. A month or so ago I bent some of the pins removing the heatsink. I was able to get it back up and running and it seems perfectly stable, but maybe enough damage was done that it can no longer run in dual channel mode.
Disappointing, but at least it still works.

Lemme guess. Corner pins were damaged?

They were mostly on the edge. I should be happy I got it to work at all, really.
