I have a X399 Taichi board with a Threadripper 1950X on BIOS version 3.50 (the most recent). OS is Windows Server 2016.

Whenever I apply a custom fan speed control curve to any of the connected fans, either through the UEFI GUI or the A-Tuning application in Windows Server, the change takes effect but but then reverts itself back to the original default configuration between 20 minutes and 2 hours later. The delay between the custom configuration being applied and the reset to default seems to be random.

Is there a way to make it so a custom fan speed control curve can be saved and keep it from reverting back to default?

This is still happening with BIOS version 3.80.

This problem is often told with different AM4/TR4 boards.
I would completely deinstall the A-Tuning SW and only use the bios for the fan control.

After removing the A-Tuning SW, go to the bios and select default FAN settings, save and restart to bios and than apply your control curve.

In any case, i would not mix bios settings with tool settings under the OS.

Just for info, a bit similar:

Thank you for that link Ray, never found it before but the solution in it (i.e. uninstalling Asrock A-Tuning and disabling "load kernel driver" in Aida64) solved the problem.
