LGA 1151 - Intel I7 4.2GHz. I built this about 18 months ago and it has been working fine. I turned it off last night and this morning it won't boot. Not sure what could have happened in 7 hours - it wasn't moved or anything. When the PSU is switched on, the CPU fan and case fan both turn on. The lights on the motherboard turn on. When I press the power on button on the case, there is a soft "whump" noise and then three areas of the motherboard slowly pulse blue. I can't get into the BIOS - it doesn't go into POST. I disconnected all drives except for the boot drive. I removed and re-seated the RAM (G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 2 x 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400). |

I suggest you try a diff PSU, if it does the same then it could be a board issue. Similar happened to me on one of my boxes, if I switched the PSU off overnight after shutdown and then turned it on in the morning or a day or two later the fans would spin up with out hitting the front ON button. Dear Snaimpally, Thank you for choosing ASRock. Regarding your case, we provide some suggestions to try: 1. Clear CMOS to load BIOS default. Please remove the power cord, and follow the user manual p20 to clear CMOS. http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Manual/Z270%20Extreme4.pdf 2. Only install CPU, one stick memory and connect to onboard graphics to check if the system can boot into BIOS properly. 3. Please try to install one stick memory at A1, B1, A2 and B2 slot to check if the system can boot into BIOS properly. 4. Thanks. I took everything apart and removed all connectors, and removed the motherboard from the case. I then reassembled everything, re-attaching all cables etc. I am only using onboard graphics (DVI). I also cleared the CMOS. I was using 2 different RAMs - I had 2x4GB 2400 and 2x8GB 2400 RAM. I tried using just one pair and then the other pair. Still the same slow blinking blue light. I will try just one stick of memory. Trying a new CPU is too expensive. I will try a new PSU.
