Recently put together a build and am having trouble getting it to even post
On startup, the psu turns on, fans turn on, and mobo led turns purple and then immediately blinks red three times and then begins to pulse red. Everything runs for about 8 seconds and then the whole system shuts itself off. It then turns itself back on and continues the cycle of turning on then turning off.
I do not get any onscreen bios or readout

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Processor (YD170XBCAEWOF)
cpu cooler:ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro
MOBO: ASROCK x370 killerSLI/ac
Memory: HyperX Kingston Technology Fury Black 8 GB CL15 DIMM DDR4 2400 MT/s Internal Memory (HX424C15FB2/8)

I have run the system on just bare components and have the same problem
I originally thought that it could be the power supply so i had it tested and the 24 pin and 8 pin power cables are running correctly
I then tried to check for error codes with a connected mobo speaker and got zero beeps out of it
i have tried to clear the cmos and tried to change the battery to no avail

Pls let me know if you have any ideas for me to try or if i need to change out components due to them being faulty

Can you try with just 1 stick of RAM? Also try different slots.

2nd step is try with no RAM installed whatsoever. Listen to the beeper to see if it will sqeak this time.

Always clear CMOS after you finish tweaking stuff.

I have a 1x8 stick of crucial ram currently and have it in the A2 slot which is recommended by the manual.

Just took out the ram and cleared the cmos. Still cycling and no beeps

My bet would be a bad mobo or a PSU in this case.

What video card is installed? The Ryzen 7 1700X CPU does not have a video capability, so a video card must be used with it.

Yes, good observation. I missed it this time.

I am wondering if the beeper should go off in this case, though?

I just tested with my 1600x on a x370 Gaming K4, I don't have a killer SLI board but it should be the same.

Removing the GPU gives 4 short beeps then blank then 4 short beeps.
Removing RAM gives 3 short beeps instantly at power up
Removing RAM and GPU gives 0 beeps at all

So maybe no GPU is installed and the RAM is not compatible? Until we know if the OP has a GPU installed however there is not much more we can say.

Very interesting!

You are right that we need OP to provide more info. No beeps is strong indication OP has no GPU, and his RAM may be incompatible. All that in the light of the findings that you posted now.
