MB: ASRock 760GM-HDV AM3+/AM3 AMD 760G
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL)
OS: Windows 10 Home
CPU: FX-8350 Black
When I go to System Information I see "Installed physical Memory" shown as 8.00GB but "total physical memory" is only 3.98GB. I went into MSCONFIG, Boot, Advanced Options and made sure Maximum Memory was unchecked. I matched the timings to what G. Skill provided and tried dropping from 1866mhz RAM spped to 1600mhz.
Still, I'm only able to use half of my RAM despite Windows recognizing I have 8GB installed. I've already tried running BIOS defaults and optimized defaults. I have also tried another pair of RAM (also not on the supported list, though) and it has the same problem. RAM also only runs in single-channel mode, but that's another issue.
I even tried reinstalling Windows (it is indeed the 64 bit version). It also doesn't matter if I swap the RAM slots around.
Is this simply a case of no matter what settings I use Windows will never recognize all of my RAM because it isn't officially supported by AsRock on my motherboard?
I've checked a lot of different resources and none of the solutions change the issue. I was hoping there was a particular fix known to AsRock users that other sites might not know of. I can't imagine the onboard video is using it up since I have it disabled in the BIOS.

Sorry, I forgot to say I'm running version 1.20 of the BIOS, downloaded from the AsRock site.
Task Manager --> Memory shows 4.0 GB Hardware Reserved.

It looks like the CPU or the mobo are showing signs of being at the end of their life cycle.
Try clearing CMOS physically, reseat all components before that. Check all cables and re-install Win from scratch. Cleaning the PC, case and slots may also get you some chance of success.
If none of this helps, you need a new CPU or mobo. That's what I think.

The CPU is only a few weeks old, but the motherboard could very possibly need replacing. I messed up removing the heatsink from an FX 6300 and it bent multiple pins.
Now I wonder from what you say if there was some kind of damage to the socket. Might be time to look for a cheap replacement.
