For my Ryzen 2700X build, I'm using an Asrock X470 Taichi (non-ultimate) with 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 memory sticks (CMK32GX4M2L3200C16) in memory slots A2 and B2. However the system doesn't boot stable at 3200MHz, with the XMP profile loaded. Sometimes it would boot, but frequently it would stop and reboot a few times and then eventually would boot at the Ryzen 2 default memory speed (something like 2133 MHz?). Once I lowered memory speed manually to 3000 MHz after loading the XMP profile, the problem disappeared. FWIW my Taichi X470 has UEFI/Bios version P2.00. Almost all settings are stock (e.g. overclocking set to "auto"), except the following:
Is there anyway I might be able to fix this and run the memory kit at its designated speed of 3200 MHz? Or am I just out of luck with my choice of memory? Thanks for any advice on the matter. |

non QVL rams are hard to run XMP youre better off loading ryzen dram calculator and setting it to those settings -------------

3000 MT/s isn't bad for 2x16. I have a pair of g.skill 3200CL14 TridentZ in a Taichi (ultimate) and a 2700X. 3200 MT/s with some help from the DRAM calculator and a bit more voltage passes stress tests but crashes every couple days. 3133 MT/s from auto XMP settings is rock solid for days on end, at CL 14. You might get one more notch from a newer BIOS but that didn't help in my case. 2x16 is considerably harder to drive than 2x8 and if you have a stable 3000 I'd take it and be happy. If you want to play around, try tightening up a few of the sub-timings using the ryzen dram calculator, but expect to spend a lot of time testing stability for a small payback. |

| My Ripjaws V 3200 CL14 (B-die) 2x16GB cannot run stable with 2700x at 3200 as well. 16GB DDR4 is a dual-rank DIMM. The highest speed I can achieve to run 24x7 stable is 2933@CL14. DRAM Calculator has no use at all. |

Thank you all of you for your responses. Using the DRAM calculator looks a bit too involved for me, so I'm going to leave things as they are and be happy with my 3000 MHz. One interesting tidbit I found out is that my RAM is Samsung B-die, but I see that I'm not the only one that can't run this at the rated speed. |

on the qvl 32GB kits usually only run 2933 and rarely 3000 dram calculator will help you get better timing on 2933/3000 since xmp or default timings are very relaxed -------------
