Hi All,
I have an Asrock X470 Taichi, an AMD Ryzen 2700x CPU and two sticks of 16GB DDR4 2666 Crucial Ram.
I have just purchased all this stuff and assembled everything.
The blue lights come on the motherboard and the cpu fan is working but nothing comes on the display. I have tried the display in another computer so I know it is working. When I power everything up the Dr Debug codes cycles through various numbers for about 10 seconds then it goes blank.
I see the motherboard has two power connectors, an 8 pin connector and a 4 pin connector next to it. Is there meant to be power going to both of them? I only have the 8 pin connector plugged in. The PSU I have does not have a 4 pin connector but it does have a 6 pin connector. If both connectors are meant to be plugged in is it ok the plug the 6 pin connector to the 4 pin plug and have two pins off the side not used? I assume these plugs are for the CPU so having them both plugged in seems a bit excessive, I didn't think cpu's required that much power. I was wondering if they were there to give you an option if you only had a 4 pin or 8 pin plug available?
Thank you for your help.

Quick question:
Do you have a GPU installed?
The display output on the motherboard is only for AMD's APUs (2200g, 2400g etc). With your 2700x you need a discrete GPU.
