I've had the x370 professional gaming since the 1st gen launch and its always had memory compatibility issues.. I recently bought a 3800x and I'm wanting to upgrade to either x470 or x570 mainly because I'm pissed at the lack of performance and memory compatibility issues I've had from the Asrock x370 professional gaming..

I've looked at the feature set of both x470 and x570 Taichi and I've compared them to other x570 boards and I've come to the decision of ordering a Taichi.. Power delivery/and the boards extended life were big factors..
I"ve ordered the x570 Taichi as I feel the bios updates will be prioritized to that board/bios.

Just your opinion, did I mess up and overspend for the x570 and the x470 had been a smarter choice? I want to maximize the life of the architecture but will the feature set of the x570 slow the board performance compared to the x470?

Just wanting some input and opinions..

Thanks..

also to add, the slow bios support of Asrock is still unacceptable!!

I'm a gamer, dont stream much, mainly get on the computer to load various games and have fun... I play Heros&Generals, Hell Let Loose and Post Scriptum....

I'll be pairing the 3800x/ x470 or 570 Taichi with a 1080ti for the moment..

if you have samsung b-die on the get go you shouldnt have these problems and even if its not a B-die manual setup is the only way to do no matter which board brand you get

I've used 3000mhz cl-15 and 3200 to 3666 cl-16 and It shows zero difference in benchmarks.

5.61 been released in jz for a few weeks back

if you fail to see the difference of 3000 15 to 3666 16 changing the board would pretty much make no difference

but my point is if you dont manually set the ram you'll surely run into unstable situations

My bigger problem is poor performance due to a lack of a proper bios/chipset driver...

My 3800x is not hitting advertised boost frequency at default settings and the updated chipset drivers downclocked the cpu 50mhz across all cores and now it performs even worse than what it did.

Hi guys, so what is the bottleneck? x370 chipset / bios support can't be that bad to the point of benchmark no improvement from ram 3000mhz to 3666mhz ???

I am planning to get a 3700x & 3600mhz ram for x370 taichi, so does this mean I should give up x370 entirely?

I think the Taichi bios updates are quicker than my x370 pro gaming motherboard...

You should try it a see first.. I havent been having any luck with my board and 3800x. I've had to get a bios that isnt even a beta bios according to asrocks site, because it doesnt exist according to Asrocks site, because its not even listed on asrocks site..

Hi brucer, my brethren seems to be enjoying with ryzen 3000, at https://www.overclock.net/forum/11-amd-motherboards/1627407-asrock-x370-taichi-overclocking-thread-584.html

may be you're right taichi bios got released ahead .... it wasn't 2 years ago, we were nearly always the last to get bios fix...... but we waited out and not bad now....

so I was going to make a purchase contemplating to remove my 1700x to put into B450M-Pro4, but @htbkoo report SX8200-pro-1TB only achieve half speed, which is holding me back from buying.....http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=11976&PID=65887&title=ryzen-3000-series-support#65887 this is the exact NVMe I planned to buy..... so both on hold too.....

https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X370%20Taichi/#CPU
although bios 5.6 supports ryzen 3000, but memory QVL not yet release MATISSE's compatibility, and I want to avoid past mistakes of not buying from QVL.

Hope ASRock publish Matisses ram qvl soon.....

@brucer, hope your next bios gets improved performance from the 3666mhz.
