Hi,

I am having a little trouble with the middle x16 slot (x8 Electrical), no matter what card i put in there it doesn't get seen. I thought this was a mobo issue so RMA'd, and so the new board is the same.

PCIe_1, PCIe_4 & PCI_5 are working fine.

NVME in M.2_1, M.2_2 Empty.

X470 Taichi Ultimate
Ryzen 2400G
2x8GB HyperX HX432C16PB3K2/16

any ideas please?

regards

Beanie

Did you configure the PCIe x16/2x8 switch in the bios?

This is under Advanced\AMD PBS in my bios

Configure? . . didn't know it was an option! I try not to look in places i have no business being in

I have a PCIe swtich option which leads to Auto - Gen1 - Gen2

no other reference to PCI in that menu

ok i look in the manual and there is an image of the bios with PCIe x 16/2x8 Switch present.
But in the BIOS it is not there.

Damn it.

The Wi-Fi?™s 433Mb/s limit could impact its usefulness as an access point, non-APU Ryzen processors lack the internal graphics engine to enable the HDMI output, and Ryzen APU?™s loose half of the CPU-based PCIe lanes?¦which in turn disables one of the x16-length PCIe slots.

So because i have an APU the BOIS will not show the x8/x8 option. and i am restricted on the PCIe lanes also . .

Sorry Asrock, this board is going back.

Hmm, this is a limitation by the APU, not the board.

So PCIe 3.0 x16 is not functional at all with an APU:
In german, but the table shows it:

The same for example with MSI X470 Gaming M7 AC:

Just a clarification:
The first PCIe 3.0 x16 can operate in 8x mode with an APU
The second PCIe 3.0 x16 has no function with an APU (there are no more 8x lanes available)
