Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the AB350M Pro has M key or NGFF M.2 sockets, as the spec say M key and the manual says NGFF......I'm stumped, it looks an M key type, I have a Samsung 860 Evo NVMe SSD I want to use but don't want to buy it and get it wrong.

Also if I use the second M.2 it disables the Sata 3, I take it there is more Sata ports I can use to connect my 4TB storage HDD.

Thanks
Steve.

???
You own this SSD but don't want to pay for it?

All the mainboards have M.2 (also named NGFF) ports.

Samsung 860 Evo is no NVMe SSD, this is a SATA III M.2 SSD and will not work in M2_1 on this board (like the spec says).

I would take a Samsung 960 or 970 Evo NVMe SSD for the M2_1 port to get the full PCIe Gen3x4 speed.

But if you already own the 860 Evo, you have to use the M2_2 port.

Yeah I meant the motherboard to buy......the Evo is in my NVMe port on my Gigabyte 970FX, my be it is the 960 then, not at home so cannot check.

I thought the NGFF had 2 notches as shown in the manual that's why I was confused , ok it will be fine in the main slot, will a NVMe drive work in the Sata M.2 or do I need a Sata SSD M.2?

Thanks for the reply.
