Hi, I got problems starting with XMP Profile. The BIOS does not recognize my RAM in XMP Profile.
My System
Ryzen 5 3600X Asrock X570M Pro 4 (BIOS ver. 1.80) Corsair Vengeance LPX 16Gb DDR4 3600MHz CMK16GXM2D3600C18 (only loading 2133MHz) Geforce GTS 450 Samsung 860 EVO 512 Gb
I did place the DIMMs in DDR4_A2 and DDR4_B2. My System does not start and sets back the BIOS-Configuration to default.
I hope an engineer at ASRock sees my problem and can respond.
Thank you, Felix

Sadly I can confirm the same. Just installed 1.80 BIOS, but has not made any difference.
Got CMW16GX4M2C3600C18W in my case. Don't know if you missed the 4 as I cant find your code online. W is just that it's the white version. Both black and white are the same in regards to spec and compatibility listings.
However, this may be a problem with Corsair's memory as their compatibility does not list AMD chipsets for this set. "Compatibility Intel 100 Series,Intel 200 Series,Intel 300 Series,Intel X299"
The CMW16GX4M2C3200C16W for example does list compatibility; "Compatibility Intel 100 Series,Intel 200 Series,Intel 300 Series,Intel X299,AMD 300 Series,AMD 400 Series,AMD X570"

Luckily I am not the only one to have the problem. I looked up my memory (CMK16GX4M2D3600C18)-the 4 was missing- on Corsair“s website. It is listed as AMD X570 compatible.
Now my memory runs at least at 3200MHz. Is set up OC-Mode in the BIOS and loaded the XMP Profile 1. I set the meory manually back to 3200MHz/1600MHz and got it running. I hope this can help you as well and that someone of ASRock can explain to us why the memory is not working at 3600MHz.

Hyperlink does not function as well.

3200MHz is a good start, everything higher is a non guaranteed OC for Ryzen 3000 cpus.
Don't believe this XMP profile stuff with just selecting a value and all is running out of the box.
Learn how to setup the RAM for your board!
Here a posting from Xaltar, he just wrote what i'm thinking too:
Xaltar wrote:
RAM compatibility is tricky as hell and contrary to popular belief, has very little to do with the motherboard. The key elements are the RAM itself and the IMC on the CPU. Where we see motherboard manufacturers "adding" support what we are really seeing are tweaks to the timings, voltage and other settings that get added in to the UEFI for a particular RAM model. AMD adds offsets and such to the AGESA code for the same reasons, to ensure more broad RAM support. There is absolutely no reason you can't do this yourself with some patience and the correct software.
XMP is not a standardized thing nor is it the RAM's default settings. It is, pure and simple, an overclock profile saved to the RAM's firmware and just like any overclock, it is not guaranteed to work on all possible configs. RAM manufacturers do their best to make sure the XMP profile works on as many configs as possible but this has to be done within reason, there are just too many possible hardware combinations to test them all.
In essence, if your board POSTs and boots into the OS without issues and is stable at 2133 (or 2400 or 2666 depending on the rated speed of the IMC) the board is not the problem, the XMP profile that won't run stable is. Typically a setting or combination of settings are too aggressive or the voltage isn't high enough. My 3600 kit wouldn't even run at 3200 (XMP set then frequency lowered to 3200) on my 1600x with the BIOS the board came with but once I went in and manually set it up based on info from tools like Ryzen calculator and thaiphoon burner I was able to get it stable at 3400, 3533 was stable except for one game which would randomly crash.
Ryzen Calculator Thaiphoon Burner
These tools are exceedingly useful in setting up your RAM frequency and timings. |

QVL is only tested on 2 sticks on that 4 stick kit

and what ray62 said is true for AMD even on older systems
its all about manual setting

I've had a look at the DRAM Calculator for Ryzen, but it's asking for a lot of information. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ryzen-dram-calculator/
So I haven't really had the time to play with it and figure out all the settings. It looks like a lot needs to be filled in manually. If that's the case, I might as well just fill in stuff manually in the BIOS directly.

Nothing else is to be done with the Ryzen DRAM calculator. It just gives you the hints what to fill manually in the bios.

You need to remove the last bit ;) ]CMK16GX4M2D3600C18 https://www.corsair.com/de/de/Kategorien/Produkte/Arbeitsspeicher/vengeance-lpx-black/p/CMK16GX4M2D3600C18
The [URL= linking doesnt work, possible because we don't have enough posts?
I have the CMW range, which is the Vengeance RGB Pro stuff, so slightly different than yours.
I'll try manually setting 3200 after enabling XMP like yourself and apparently others have done. That way it will at least be better than the default slow setting.

Managed to get it to run at 3200 with cas16-18-18-36, which is what the 3200 Vengeange RGB Pro AMD sticks are set to run for. So not able to get it at 3600C18m, but still a lot better than 2133C15...

Hello, have CMW16GX4M2C3600C18W kit and it gives me mixed feelings.
I think it is incompatibility issue with AMD at the end. I posted on official Corsair forums about my struggles with this kit (https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=190089), perhaps it is not fixable as mine kit is not listed as AMD compatible... but it does work for me and XMP profile does let me run it at advertised speed (older BIOS) so the experience may vary.
To make it clear i'm on another board and this post more for information for potential buyers and users. Possible solution for schufeli and SaiBork try to set XMP profile timings (all of them) manually in BIOS and test clocks higher than 3200. You can take timings from Thaiphoon Burner or Ryzen Master (pm me if you need the screen with XMP profile).

My x570 taichi had XMP compatibility out of the box, but any BIOS after 1.20 will cause boot loop upon loading XMP.
I have found the easiest solution is to load the XMP profile, then go in and manually turn down the speed about 4 notches. this will give you your timings and allow it to boot
Interestingly, I can then go in after a successful boot and bump the speed back up to the default XMP speed, and it will then boot, and remain stable.
I now have my 2x8 Corsair Dominator Platinum 3600 kit running at 3600, and with even tighter timings than the XMP defaults. Don't ask me why it won't just load XMP in the first instance, but with a bit of jiggery-pokery, you should be able to still hit those timings.
