Hi Asrock and friends

Amd has release Agesa 1003abba with smu fix for more boostclock. There are some BetaBios around from the other Manufactors like Asus, Gigabyte and MSI. Did someone found some Beta from Asrock with abba? Espacilly for x370 taichi?

registered just to add my plus one on this question. Can we expect to see this implemented in the next few hours or are we looking at several days?

Check the Ryzen 3000 sticky post, if anyone will have beta BIOSes available to
download it will be JZ. The link to his website is in my first post. Keep an eye
there

Still no agesa 1.0.0.3abba from asrock around. No beta just nothing? I did bought a asrockboard not a jz board, so where we could get beta? I know jz do just a great job, but i wont believe that is nonotherway too get betabios.

I'm a little disappointed as well but, to be fair, I'd rather it take a week or two and be nice and stable than have to reflash or encounter bugs.

JZ gets BIOSes that are not typically released to the public and tests them
himself before putting them up on his site, or at least that is what I believe to
be the case. ASRock has been cautious publicly releasing beta BIOSes ever since
Ryzen first gen had so many issues. I don't blame them. You have to bare in mind
that ASRock is not as large (infrastructure) as the other big brands. It's why I
like the brand, in many ways they are the underdog competing against larger, more
established brands yet somehow still holding their own.

I'd also rather have a clean BIOS and wait a few days/weeks longer.
Currently i can't set the RGB in BIOS for example - not a dealbreaker, but not really convenient either...

I did not check full video but based on https://youtu.be/PB72OrnSeQo this yields 0,2% or so performance boost, most likely noticeable only in benchmarks.

the taichi beta was out a couple days ago.

the reviews ive seen say the difference is barely noticeable in benchmarks, but more apparent real world use

And why Asrock didnt post this Bios in the allready existing BetaBios Section from the Homepage? https://www.asrock.com/support/index.asp?cat=bBIOS

@XAltar, in my opionen is AsRock Big engough to post all the good work the had done behind the "official" Releases.

Like in past, as the FTP Server in CN was "browsable". Why we had to wait for jz to get them? Again, he does a good job, but Asrock could put beta online directly.

And to be honest, when you no big as the other, than are things like that the differents.

I think it's because it's not ready yet. They can not release any wip work for bios which "kinda sorta works but maybe not".
There is QA and stuff, I'm sure they will put bios out as soon as it's usable for masses.

Why not? Its a BetaBios section. Under Bios okay but Beta section should have the same qa. And why there not share a ftp place whiches is more inoffical? Im shure, if asrock would, there could find a way.

I can now see 4525 MHz on 2-3 cores for my Ryzen 3900X if I leave hwinfo64 running in the background. Quite a jump, more than 100 MHz. Still a lot of ditance to go.

Also PPT and TDC readings are still garbage on the Taichi X570.

Yes, only PBO on, and OC the RAM

nothing in that sentence means default

Well, PBO on is actually the default settings for X570 Steel Legend
It's on [Auto], but Auto is actually enables it.

And overclocking the RAM has nothing to do with CPU Clock

Other Board vendors are releasing ABBA for older boards now.

We have waited for a while and if we have to wait a bit longer so be it, the problem is lack of communication from ASRock, their customers just don't know what is going on.

I think i would like to add its not been helpful for AMD? to delay the release of B550 boards.

I may well have upgraded my B350 by now has B550 been available, X570 are just too expensive, $200 starting price for people who spent less than that in the Ryzen 3000 CPU, its just not going to happen, what are they thinking?

This is why so many people are still on older 300 and 400 series boards, i know a lot of people who are still buying them new for their new Ryzen 3000.

then whats the problem? abba just puts 3000's to rated boost speeds

abb works

X470 taichi, still no bios. AMD said, that all x470 platforms will get bios update same as x570

Yeah I'd expect the update to the x470 taichi. I really like the features on this board, but the poor support asrock is enough for me to go back to Asus.

So, it means, that all x470 Mobo will get 1.0.0.4 bios in nearest future?

In theory, but then we should have had 1.0.0.3 ABBA, so don't bank on it.

I am getting tired of seeing all the complaints about ABBA not coming to 300 and
400 series boards and the speculation that future updates will be ignored on
these platforms.

Guys, ASRock skipped it because it offers very little and 1.0.0.4 came out
while they were working on bringing it to the earlier boards. Rather than waste
time finishing the update that would fix nothing of significance and then have
to start immediately working on the more useful update they opted to get the
1.0.0.4 update under way to get that out sooner. Now, this is speculation on my
part but it is based on my testing of the 1.0.0.3 ABBA AGESA on my 2 x570
boards and not seeing a difference in performance, in fact, on my X570 Taichi
the update actually scored lower in Cinebench and I reverted to the ABB
version.

ASRock has already provided at least one beta BIOS containing 1.0.0.4 for a 400
series board (see the Ryzen 3000 support thread for details). I personally
think it is a good thing that they chose to push the more useful update in
favor of the one that fixed none of the outstanding bugs save for a few paltry
mhz to the max boost clock, a boost that makes 0 difference to performance in
most situations.

I don't doubt 1.0.0.4 will be released for all supporting boards as so far, all
evidence points to it actually fixing a lot of issues as well as improving
stability etc with Ryzen 3000.

I guess that jzelectronic was stopped by Asrock to provide new test/bios images for downloading, but the shop offers some X570 boards with AGESA Combo-AM4 1.0.0.4.

So no new bios images yet, but this is an indication of the progress for new bios files coming up soon.

More than 1 month ago that Agesa 1.0.0.3 ABBA was released, ASROCK has already released another x570 BIOS and x370 / x470 users have been left for over 2 months without updating to fix third generation AMD Ryzen issues.

It is a lack of respect for the consumer.

I have had enough of this. This thread serves absolutely no purpose other than
whining and complaining. It has already been established that 1.0.0.3 ABBA will
not be coming to ASRock's 300 and 400 series AM4 boards. This is doing all of
you a favor, allowing ASRock to get 1.0.0.4 out to you sooner rather than WASTE
TIME putting out the older update.

Thread locked.
