Hi I have an x370 Pro Gaming Fatality MB, with a Ryzen 3800x CPU. I've noticed that my AIO water cooler fan is wavering a lot, it seems the MB is ignoring the fan settings in the BIOS. It speeds up for a couple seconds, then slows down, then speeds up again. Seems it wants a constant temperature of around 40 degrees. However, when the F-Stream utility is run, everything goes quiet. It's annoying that I need the utility running for the fan profiles to work. What should I do? I have run the BIOS built-in fan tuner, and have all fan profiles set to "Silent" The water cooler is running at FULL, monitor CPU.
I am running BIOS 5.3, although I did update to 5.8, then rolled back to 5.3, thinking maybe that update was the problem. The problem persists on 5.3 though.

Really? no one? After doing a bit of searching, it seems that I should be setting the Monitor parameter to "TCTRL". However, this doesn't exist in my BIOS (neither 5.3 nor 5.8) Only options are "Monitor MB or Monitor CPU"
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

EDIT: I see I wrote 3800x. It's actually an 1800x! Apologies for the mistype.

Hello, your are not the first with FAN control problems. Personally, i would not mix bios FAN settings with settings by sw under the OS. Maybe interesting to read, even if the issue is different: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=11455&title=x399-taichi-fan-speed-control-keeps-resetting
