Hello everyone. I have a mothermoard AsRock AB350M PRO4. I just brought a new case and mounted everything, and it simply doesn't want to power up. I think i placed the power button on the right pins, i tryed many combinations.

What i need is to help me figure it out what i have to do to make it work. I tryed removing rams and video card, processor, clearing cmos, removing battery. Nothing works.

I have power, my source is working, my video card light bulb is on.

Now, the amaizing part is that my brother tryed to power it up directly with a boby pin on the source cable while everything was mounted and it POWERED UP. IT's working. Everything looks fine in desktop, didn't hold it powered up for long.

But the problem is, why i can't power it up normaly?

I have to admit, while i tryed to remove the video card from my old case i didn't knew what was the open position of the clip holding the video card and used a screw driver to press it. I broke it and made 2 small dots on the mobo. You think the mobo is in carantine mod or something? I mean is starts with the boby pin but not with the power button....any ideeas?

could be bad power switch on case if you are able to manually jump the pins and it boots up fine .. try putting the reset button on the power pins and see if it comes to life .. if it does, then you know you have a bad switch

If shorting those 2 pins (just for a split second) doesn't turn it on then you have likely damaged the
board. I am guessing you are shorting pins on the 24pin power connector to
force the PSU on while it's connected to the board?

If that is true and you damaged the board you have likely voided your warranty
I am sad to say. You could however create a workaround. If the board won't
power up with the power pins I highlighted above then you can try this:

Solder wires to the 2 pins you shorted with the bobby pin then solder a switch
(like a light switch with an off and on position) to those wires and mount the
switch at the back of the case. You can then use that to power the system on
and off. The system will not shut down on it's own but sleep might still work.
It is a cheap and dirty fix but if your warranty is gone it will at least get
your system working. Just be sure you shut down the system before you turn
power the off, if it is not in it's shut down state when you cut power it can
damage the board over time.

Alternatively, you can take the board to an electronics expert and have them
repair the damaged traces. If it is damaged then you likely broke some of them
with the screwdriver. Nothing a steady hand and some delicate soldering can't
fix.

I tried shorting the pins but nothing happened. The soldering way, was an option and i thought about that. It is an option for short duration. Thanks for advice.

I didn't thought the post will be posted because i posted it from my phone and it kinda looked awkward.
Because i could't wait for an answer and convinced myself that is as good as a lost cause i bought a new MOBO as fast as i could.
I think i will get it to a an electronic expert but now i am good with the new MOBO. The reset button didn't work.
I didn't paid so much on it so is not really a problem, next time i will remember to not screw with the screw driver.
Maybe i hit something on the motherboard and made a shorting or something. And how i said, two dots on the mobo. So sad, was warking fine.
