Or so it would seem.....

Up until last night I had a perfectly good working computer.
ASRock AB350M
AMD A10-9700 CPU
16GB Corsair LPX 2400 DDR4 RAM

Then last night I received a NEW Crucial SSD MX500 from BHPhoto.   There were some strange wear marks on the front, but I decided to ignore them.

Install SSD and all is good....until I came vback about an hour later and found my computer DOA.   Nothing. No post...nothing.

Removed and tested PSU for power....OK

But connected to the Motherboard....NOTHING. No PSU fan, No PSU LED light, nothing.   Only way to get the PSU to power up is to jumper terminals 15 and 16 (green to ground)

So is this a PSU problem, a CPU problem, or a Motherboard issue?

Thanks

I can't edit my posts so I have to add a new post to add things I missed in the OP................

Disconnected EVERYTHING.......
All SATA connectors
All USB connectors
All DVD/CD drives
All hard and SSD drives
(everything)

After several days of Googling and trying every advanced trick I could find ......the motherboard is dead.

I even tried a different CPU.

Conclusion.....

For unknown reasons, this particular Crucial MX500 SSD damaged my mainboard.

If you have a similar experience please post it.
