Subject: Windows sleep state breaks Restore on AC function

I am using an ASRock B450 Steel Legend M/B with the 3.20 BIOS and have noticed an oddity with the Restore on AC/Power Loss function and the Windows 10 sleep state. If the PC is set to never enter the sleep state (S3) and the Restore on AC is set to Power On, all works as expected i.e. if I shut down the PC and turn off the power, when I reconnect the power the PC will start automatically. However, if the PC is ever allowed to enter sleep, then woken, shutdown and turned off, it will not then automatically start when the power is restored. Perhaps when Windows 10 enters the sleep state it sets a flag in the BIOS that then prevents the Restore on AC function working? I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this odd behaviour? I have an old ASUS Intel M/B and the Restore on AC always works, even if has previously entered the sleep state.

I'm not in the habit of replying to my own posts! but I'm still seeking an answer to this problem.
I have recently upgraded my PSU and also updated the BIOS on my motherboard to 3.50, and this issue is still present. I would be very grateful if someone could see if they can confirm this is a general problem. Although I'm using an ASRock B450 Steel Legend (very pleased with it BTW) I suspect this may affect other motherboards.
In case you don't know where to find the Restore on AC/Power Loss option it is in Advanced - Onboard Devices Configuration.
Thank you.

Hi,
I can confirm I also have this issue. I was going crazy trying to understand why the Restore on AC Power Loss option wasn't working consistently before I stumbled on your post. Thanks for investigating this and finding out it's related to the sleep state.
My motherboard is an X570 Pro4, so the issue isn't limited to your model.
