Hi folks. found a fix to static/coil noise on our audio. Passing it along.
We are building a audio/video editing station, and encountered noise (static or coil) on our audio when the GPU was under load. It was created by using a cheap case and the poorly shielded wire running to the front audio jack acting as an antenna. Plugging into the rear audio jack (straight into the MoBo) fixed it.
Other fixes we saw posted. Update all drivers, ensure the MoBo is not contacting the case with short stand offs, better PSU, make sure no wires are hitting the fans.
Build details. An ASRock B450 Gaming K4, 2700 8 core CPU, XFX RF580 (8 GB), 16 GB 3200 RAM, and an inexpensive (but working well) 530 Watt Raidmax power supply.

coil noise from gpu is a loud sound that can be heard by ear not through an equipment
what you are experiencing is unshielded noise electrically due to power draw
plugging at the back would help but for professional use it is better to use a sound card

Thanks for that specific and good information. We were calling it static but I saw a lot of folks searching on coil noise as well, so I included it in the terms, but if it is strictly mechanical, that is good clarification.
