Subject: About the B450M Steel Legend

For my new build in the next year or two, Im thinking about joining the Asrock family with the B450M Steel Legend and a Ryzen 3700X.
I know most B450 boards do require an update to the Bios to work with this CPU, but looking at the Bios list for that motherboard, I need atleast Version P2.10 for a 3700X to function.
What Bios version ships with the B450M Steel Legend? Is the 3700X pretty much compatible out of the box?

Generally they'll be listed as "AMD AM4 Socket for 3rd/2nd/1st AMD Ryzen" in the CPU type in the items description .. all AM4 mobos should be 3rd gen ready at this point.

I wanted to make sure the B450M Steel Legend ships out with a 3700X compatible Bios, so I dont need a Boot Kit from AMD. :D

just call whatever vendor you go with prior to them shipping the board out to you to make sure... if possible... or go with an x570 chipset for a few extra dollars

Amazon doesnt seem to be shipping it directly atm, and the cheapest B450m board is shipped from Italy... new egg charges a stupid 80 dollar shipping fee... So my only choice is to take a gamble. :/

As far as I am aware all boards shipped out by ASRock after a generation launch (CPU) ship with the latest available BIOS. They actually go into their stores and manually flash every last board that goes out the door. If you get a board that has an older BIOS version then it had been sitting in a retailer warehouse or on a shelf somewhere.
Sadly many retailers sit on large stock numbers and make no effort to update the BIOS on their inventory.

I bought a B450M Steel Legend and the 3900x back in July '19. Board worked out of the box even back then. The mobo box had a sticker added saying 3000 support. So unless you shop at a place that has rediculously old stock, the odds are good you'll get a working board.

It's a great board, however I've had trouble with the latest 2.90 bios, it would crash often and reset my 3600mhz ram (F4-3600C16-8GTZ) to 2400. Rock solid with 2.70. YMMV, of course
